Goal #1: Done

Remember my 2026 goals post? First one down.

I am below 200 pounds weekly average and now 40 years old as of today.

Started at 208 around Thanksgiving. No dramatic story—just went to bed slightly hungry each night and stopped eating like I was 25. I also walked a lot!

A few specific things I did

Switched to black coffee: this has been great and I think I’ll stick with it for the most part. I used to add about 1.5-2 Tbsp of half and half but for my morning coffee at least I’ll stick to black. Saved some calories easily.

Intermittent fasting: fancy term for narrowing the window of time I ate. Often starting around 11 and ending by 8. Sometimes cheated with a cappachino from the caffe around 9 am on office days.

Stopped drinking: mostly. I had maybe 4-5 drinks total within Dec and Jan. I was a bit more free in February but still limited, maybe 4 / wk.

2x/day: I was doing 2 workouts for 45 min each day in Dec and half of Jan. Its kind of like the 75 hard but I didn’t keep that up, too much time and was getting pretty worn out.

I also gained over a pound of muscle and lost 2.5% body fat during this time. Visceral fat went from 10 to 9. Next goal should be sub 20% body fat ~ < 195.

I benchmarked my body composition with an InBody scan at the gym on 12/1 and took 2 more scans on 1/12 and 2/28. the last one I was wearing street clothes and hydration was off, but I still think its good and the trends are all consistent.
